Hamilton County Schools Partners with PUREgraphite
Chattanooga, Tenn. (Aug. 6, 2021) -- Hamilton County Schools (HCS) and PUREgraphite announced a new partnership to support the Future Ready Institutes at Lookout Valley Middle High School (LVMHS).
PUREgraphite is an anode materials subsidiary of NOVONIX specializing in low-cost graphite anode material for lithium-ion batteries. LVMHS students will learn technology, engineering, and manufacturing basics through this program. This institute will start with freshman year students moving through high school as they build on their technical knowledge and skills.
“Hamilton County Schools’ partnership with PUREgraphite is an exciting addition to our Future Ready Institute offerings,” said Dr. Johnson, Hamilton County Schools Superintendent. “Preparing our students is a main focus of our strategic plan and it's great to see these opportunities for our students continue to grow.”
Hamilton County Schools is working to continue expanding the list of Future Ready Institutes which accelerates the growth of thriving students.
“We at LMVHS are so excited about the Future Ready Institute partnership with PUREgraphite,” said LeeAnn McBryar, LVMHS Principal. “Having an industry leader of this caliber partner with LVMHS is a game changer for our students and this community.
Future Ready Institutes provide opportunities for students to learn skill sets which are not taught in traditional classroom learning environments. These programs teach students transferable skills for life after high school.
“PUREgraphite is thrilled to announce this partnership with HCS,” said Daniel Deas, Chief Operations Officer, PUREgraphite. “This institute will serve to create the next generation of individuals with the specialized skills and knowledge necessary to transition our local community, our state and our country into a more sustainable energy future.”
